Creating Megalodon Tooth

Megalodon TOOTH part 1: Creation
We received our first major assignment for DMA 179. The task is basically doing some researhc about the magalodon and create a megalodon tooth with the help of clay and several other materials. This enormous creature was discovered and documented by Louis Agassiz in 1835 and gave it the scientific name: Carcharodon Megalodon. In spite of the different calculations, this creature appeared to grow from 56ft to 67ft in length. Even though considered extinct by the majority of scientist, there is a small percent that believes Megalodon is still among us... or just somewhere in the deep ocean. Hope you enjoy my small tooth replica and the following process.

1. Some different textures, acrylic paint, clay, primer wire and hanger. 8:00 am (set up)

2. Rough shape of my tooth with the hanger and some thin wire. 8:25 am

3. Cover the shape with aluminum tin foil to start giving some detail and form. 8:45 am

4. Add the clay and start shaping and adding some more detail using the knife, brushes, and different textures. 9:20 am

5. Finishing up with fine details using a second layer after letting it dry for a few minutes.
(Front and Back) 10:00 am

6. Finally I Added some paint using only a few colors and mixing them together to get the desired tones and... see part 2 Final. 10:45 am
